Notes from Human Resources Division

  • The Managed Rehabilitation Program Annual Report for 2001-02 is now available. The Report shows that the Program continues to show positive results in achieving its goals. One hundred employees accessed the Program, whether through stay-at-work initiatives, or assistance in returning to work. Since the inception of the Managed Rehabilitation Program in 1997, there have been 3,229 work days saved through Gradual Return to Work programs. This translates to 12.5 working years. The Report is available by contacting the Managed Rehabilitation Office (Room 215, Toxicology Centre) or on HRD's web site: http://adminsrv.usask.ca/HRDivision/mrp.htm

  • The Healthy Workplace Week in Canada was recently celebrated. The idea of a healthy workplace begins with the belief that you cannot maintain long term organizational success without healthy employees. The mental, physical and economic health of employees and their organizations are tightly intertwined. Health in the workplace means much more than individual employees getting a good rest, decent diet and plenty of exercise. The climate or culture of the organization also has a major impact. For more information about strategies for building healthier workplaces, go to Canada's Health Workplace web site: http://222.nqi.ca/chww/

  • Monday, November 11, 2002 is Remembrance Day and a statutory holiday. The University will be closed to the public that day.

  • Congratulations to Sheila Clark, an HRD employee, whose art work was selected to be displayed in the dining room of the Faculty Club until December 31, 2002. Sheila's work mostly consists of oil paintings on pressed leaves and mounted on her own handmade paper, and framed.
