    Paul Becker, Associate Vice-President of Facilities Management, has been elected as the student representative on the Board of Governors of Royal Roads University in Victoria where he is a student in the MBA program.

    Ray Albert has taken up the position of Rawlco Program Counselor in the College of Commerce, providing information and support services to Aboriginal students. He divides his time between the College and the Saskatoon Tribal Council where he also works as a student counsellor.
    Jennifer Simpson has assumed her duties as the second floor Receptionist in the Administration Building. Formerly the Department of Medicine receptionist, her duties include greeting, assisting and directing visitors as well as providing support for University adminstrators.

    Nelson
    Louise Nelson, Professor of Applied Microbiology & Food Science, has been appointed the U of S NSERC (Natural Sciences & Engineering Research Council) Representative for the year ending Aug. 31, 2003. She assumes the position while Chris Soteros, Professor of Mathematics & Statistics, is on sabbatical. Chosen for their outstanding communications abilities and skills in interdisciplinary outreach, NSERC Representatives work with the Vice-Presidents Research in arranging NSERC's presence in local initiatives and consultations.
    Dr. Baljit Singh, Associate Professor in the Department of Veterinary Biomedical Sciences, has received the European Respiratory Society's Young Scientist Travel Award. He was also named this year's Pre-Clinical Professor of the Year by the Western College of Veterinary Medicine, and he received the Pfizer Award for Research Excellence.

    Kathryn Warden

    Kathryn Warden, Research Communications Officer with the Office of the Vice-President Research, has been appointed to the 10-member national NSERC Committee on Communications which advises the NSERC Council and management on communications policy, plans and activities. The appointment is for four years.
