In addition, the designation Librarian Emeritus was conferred on E. Paredes-Ruiz, also effective July 1.

Approval was also given for Lyle Sanderson, long-time Kinesiology faculty member and Huskie track and field coach, to use the title Coach Emeritus, but not until July 1, 2004. Sanderson recently received the Queen's Golden Jubilee Medal, on the recommendation of Athletics Canada, in recognition of his contributions to track and field in Canada.
