Thinking the World of Our University

- about the theme and logo -

By Susan Burton
Campaign Communications Officer

Look carefully at the swirling circles on the map part of the logo for the campus community campaign (above), and you'll see they centre on Saskatchewan and the University of Saskatchewan. We're not saying the world should revolve around us, but we do think what we do here can impact the lives of people around the globe.

Pride and our sense of place in the world: those were the feelings we were trying to project when we developed the theme and logo for our campus community campaign.

We selected the words carefully. 'Thinking' implies research, scholarly and artistic activity - the focus of this institution. 'Thinking the world' reflects our pride in this university as well as recognizing that our work has relevance and importance on a global scale.

It is OUR university. We determine its success through our creativity, our dedication, and our desire to succeed. We think the theme, taken as a whole, projects the same sort of warmth and commitment that is found in the people who work and study here at the University of Saskatchewan.
