Flu Clinic Oct. 21-22
The U of S Department of Health, Safety & Environment (DHSE) is holding its annual Flu Clinic Oct. 21 and 22 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. in the Education Students' Lounge, Education Building.
Community Safety Manager Janice Lavoie encourages U of S employees, students, people in U of S-affiliated agencies, and the public to take the opportunity to get immunization shots at the clinic.
Information sent by Lavoie to campus units and on the DHSE website say, "Workplace immunization clinics are increasingly popular as a way to help keep employees, and the people with whom they work or live, protected from influenza. Immunization of employees can reduce absenteeism, replacement and overtime costs, interruption of service, rescheduling of important events, extended health costs, and many other unwanted disruptions in the workplace."
Cost of the shots for U of S employees is $8, after a $5 subsidy by DHSE. For all others it's $13. Students may get reimbursed by taking their receipts to the Student Health Centre. People should bring their provincial Health Card and U of S Employee Card.
Each year hundreds of U of S employees opted for the vaccination. Some departments are paying the $8 fee for their employees' shots. Departments interested in doing so should contact DHSE by Oct. 17. For more information see website: www.usask.ca/dhse/communitysafety/fluclinic.htm.
