    Four of five Saskatchewan people appointed to the Order of Canada during the recent visit to Saskatoon of Gov. Gen. Adrienne Clarkson are connected to the U of S. Receiving the awards were Guy Vanderhaeghe, author and faculty member at St. Thomas More College; archaeology professor Ernie Walker; Otto Radostits, professor emeritus of veterinary internal medicine; and political studies faculty member and former premier Roy Romanow.

    Recent academic administrative appointments include: Bob Regnier as Acting Head of Educational Foundations from Jan. 1-June 30 while Don Cochrane is on administrative leave; Darwin Anderson as Acting Head of Soil Science from Jan. 1-April 30 while Jim Germida is on administrative leave; and Morris Altman re-appointed as Head of Economics for a three-year term, July 1, 2004–June 30, 2007.
