Freda Salikin, facilities and operations manager for the U of S Students’ Union (USSU), said the locally-owned operation was selected to replace the Treats kiosk near the College Drive entrance because it offers a type of food “that’s not a duplication of what Food Services offers”. She added the price point of the food “fits well within a student’s budget”.

The Crepe Factory will serve breakfast, dessert and stuffed crepes.

The lease for the Place Riel space is short-term, said Salikin. It will be reviewed after June 30 next year because “we’re looking at some type of renovation”.
