CAMPUS INCIDENTS UPDATE - Nov. 29 to Jan. 4
Following are some of the incidents reported recently by
the Campus Safety Department:
NOVEMBER 29-DECEMBER 5
- Officers attended two fire alarms, one in Qu'Appelle Hall and one in Education. Both were false alarms.
- Two males were arrested for theft from the Drama Bldg. and were turned over to City Police for charges.
- Two men were arrested for being drunk in public (Education Bldg.) and turned over to City Police.
- Officers responded to medical calls in Commerce and PAC. MD Ambulance transported victims to RUH.
DECEMBER 6-12
- Several offices were illegally entered in the Williams Bldg. Inventories are being taken to ascertain if any items are missing.
- A room in Kirk Hall was broken into and two computers and one monitor were stolen. City Police are investigating.
- A vending machine in Marquis was broken into. Candy bars and coin were stolen.
DECEMBER 13-19
- Approximatly $1,650 worth of plants were damaged at the Natural Sciences Museum. It appears skateboarders in the building caused the damage. It is under investigation.
- A vehicle was damaged in U lot. Culprits damaged the locking mechanism and scratched the side of the vehicle.
- A male was arrested at STM for being drunk in a public place. He was trasnported to City Police cells.
- Officers found a man sleeping in Lower Place Riel. They ascertained he was not a student and had outstanding warrants. He was arrested and transported to city cells.
- There was an attempted theft of audio-visual equipment from the Health Sciences Bldg.
- Five lockers at PAC were broken into with various items stolen.
- Two computers were stolen from Kirk Hall but were recovered by Campus Safety officers.
- A laptop was stolen from a room in Engineering. City police are investigating.
- A Dell flat screen monitor was stolen from the Spinks Addition.
DECEMBER 20-24
- There was a break-and-enter in the Biology Bldg. Damage was done to two doors and a data projector valued at $2,500 was stolen. There are no suspects.
- There have been several extension cords stolen from vehicles parked in stalls and plugged in.
- A locker in PAC was broken into. A watch and cash were stolen.
- There was an attempted theft of computers in Thorvaldson. This was unsuccessful due to cable locks.
DECEMBER 25-JANUARY 4
- Culprits spray painted white graffiti on the Campus Map at East Road. No suspects.
- A fire extinguisher was discharged inside the men's washroom on the 11th floor of Arts Bldg.
