CAMPUS INCIDENTS – October 17-30

These are a selection of incidents reported by the Campus Safety Department:

October 17-23

  • While doing mobile patrols of McEown Park, a Campus Safety officer was flagged down by two persons who had just had someone attempt to break into their house. Officer notified city police and kept the suspect under observation until police arrived. Police were able to arrest the male.
  • A vehicle was damaged in the Diefenbaker Canada Centre parking lot by culprit(s) smashing out the rear passenger window. A backpack was stolen. All items were recovered in the area except a wallet.
  • A wallet and Discman were stolen from Browsers.
  • A vending machine located outside of Rm. 146, Arts Building, was tipped over.
  • A staff member entered a room in Arts and interrupted a male attempting to steal a computer. The male ran off. A description was given, but the suspect could not be located.

October 24-30

  • A digital camera valued at approximately $400 was stolen from Engineering.
  • Three 24-hour suspensions were issued to drivers this weekend.
  • Officers arrested a male on campus for breaching a court order. City police will process him.
