CAMPUS INCIDENTS – SEPTEMBER 19-OCTOBER18

These are a selection of incidents reported by the Campus Safety Department:

Sept. 19-Oct. 2

  • Four bicycles were stolen from racks across campus.
  • Officers responded to a disturbance at RUH and arrested a male with outstanding warrants. He was turned over to City Police for processing.
  • Officers issued two 24-hour suspension to drivers on campus.
  • Officers arrested a male for outstanding parking warrants for our department and discovered he also had warrants for the City. After dealing with our warrants he was transported to City Police.
  • Dispatcher observed via CCTV monitor, four people break into a vehicle in U lot. One was apprehended, others fled on foot. K9 unit called in but unable to locate the others. City police are handling this file.
  • Five 24-hour suspensions and one AGRA ticket for open liquor were issued by officers this weekend.
  • A male was arrested on Campus for breaching a probation order not to consume alcohol. He was turned over to Saskatoon Police for processing.
  • A PDA was stolen from a computer lab in Engineering.

Oct. 3-16

  • A motor vehicle made a right-hand turn from Campus Drive onto Maintenance Road without realizing a cyclist was on her right. The cyclist was struck. City Police were called to the scene. Cyclist refused medical assistance.
  • Officers responded to RUH to assist their security with 2 suspects who were swearing, spitting, and fighting. Saskatoon Police also attended to assist. Two males were arrested and transported to Saskatoon detention centre.
  • On October 15 unknown culprit(s) brought a severed buffalo head to Griffiths Stadium. The head was disposed of by Vet Med,
  • Officers responded to a call of an intoxicated male passed out near Qu’Appelle Hall. Male was located and parents were contacted to pick him up.
  • Another passed-out male was located in Qu’Appelle Hall. He was transported to hospital by MD Ambulance.
  • Officers found a baggie of marijuana. The suspects fled; however, they were later caught stealing a bike on campus and are facing charges.
  • Officers assisted with an injured football player at Griffiths. MD ambulance transported victim to RUH.
