Merriam assumes Council chair
Geological Sciences professor Jim Merriam was elected chair of University Council Sept. 21, although it took a bylaw change to get him there.
Dumont returns for second term
Art Dumont, chairman and chief executive officer of Tehnicoil Corporation in Calgary, has been returned to a second term as chair of the U of S Board of Governors.
Skeletal remains
Art and Art History graduate Sonya Adams, who earned her BFA this past spring, finds inspiration in the skeletal remains of outmoded communications technologies and this particular rendering of bits of a typewriter earned her a top prize in this year’s BMO 1st Art! Invitational Student Art Competition. Titled Untitled, the charcoal drawing will be added to BMO’s corporate art collection along with work by other regional winners, all graduating students, who each receive $1500 for their piece.
Alumni awards feature entertaining winner
A piano performance by one award winner will make this year’s U of S Alumni Association achievement award gala a particularly entertaining evening when alumni, family and guests gather to celebrate Oct. 12.

The Big Squeeze Research will benefit industry, environment

Campaign tops $113 million – Saskatchewan donors generous
