Franklin reappointed

On the advice of the University president, the Board of Governors has approved the reappointment of Steven Franklin to the position of vice-president research for a second, five-year term.

Franklin’s first years in the position as well as his plans for the future were assessed by a review committee that looked at feedback from both the campus community and external individuals and agencies. According to Peter MacKinnon, the committee “unanimously agreed that there was a high degree of satisfaction and admiration for Dr. Franklin’s work.”

Franklin will begin his second term July 1, 2009 after taking a year of administrative leave.
