The Provost’s Committee on Integrated Planning (PCIP) wants the University community to have more information about what’s up for discussion at its regular monthly meetings.
Barrie Dubray, assistant provost for integrated planning and analysis, said PCIP will post a summary of its major discussion and decision items on the Integrated Planning website. Provost Michael Atkinson earlier this year began providing a similar summary to the monthly meetings of University Council.
“The objective here is to help the community understand the kinds of issues under consideration at PCIP,” Dubray said, but actual decisions may not appear. Confidentiality is a consideration in what information is made public, as is the amount of work this will require of the Integrated Planning Office.
“That’s the dilemma,” he said. “While we want to be as open and transparent as possible, we don’t want to find ourselves spending three days writing a report (for the website) on PCIP decisions that may or may not be of interest.”
