User-friendly documents a must, says reader

I would like to thank Professor Marken for his timely viewpoint on the Proposed Plan that was sent to everyone here on campus.     

So many of these documents could be ⅓ to ¼ in length if we just said what we mean. A preamble that was over 30 pages is the first sign that this was not going to be an easy task. I started reading it and gave up. Many of my co-workers felt the same and did not do the survey. That is unfortunate! I am sure that it took hundreds of hours to produce this document, but it is not ‘user friendly’ by any stretch of the imagination.

I would be interested to know how many member of the campus community read the preamble and answered the survey.
