With this issue of On Campus News, we begin our 16th year of publishing, and we also introduce a whole new look for the newspaper.
The most radical change is here on Page 1 where a re-designed banner across the top incorporates the streaks of light that are part of the institution’s new look, connecting the newspaper more closely with other materials that say University of Saskatchewan. The banner also includes a reference to OCN, the favorite nickname for this paper.
In addition to changing the banner, we will be using a more modern, open layout with more white space offsetting blocks of type. On the inside pages, you will find the stories, photos and features we have always carried to keep you up-to-date on what’s happening around campus. And everything will be set in new, readable typefaces—Minion for stories and Myriad for headlines.
It’s a new publishing year and a new look. As always, we welcome your comments at ocn@usask.ca
