Campus Incidents

Selected incidents reported by Campus Safety Department. Report all information about these and other incidents to Campus Safety at 966-5555.

Sept. 2 – 7

• Officers issued:
  • 2 30-day suspensions
  • 2 driving while disqualified
  • 3 operating an unregistered vehicle
  • 1 disobeying a stop sign
  • 2 speeding
  • 1 24-hour suspension
• Unknown culprit(s) stole copper wire from spools located in a compound by the University Services Building.  The value is unknown at this time.
• One male was arrested for damaging a window in Qu'Appelle Hall.
• One male was arrested for being intoxicated in public. 
• Officers attended and extinguished a car fire in Q lot.
• A male was arrested for attempting to steal a bike outside the Geology Building.

Sept. 2 – 7

• Officers issued:
  • 2 30-day suspensions
  • 2 driving while disqualified
  • 4 operating an unregistered vehicle
  • 7 disobeying a stop sign
  • 2 speeding
  • 3 24-hour suspensions
  • 2 disobeying a do not enter sign
  • 5 minor possession/consumption of alcohol
  • 1 consuming alcohol in a place other than a dwelling
• Officers attended a medical call at Rutherford Rink
• One bike was stolen from racks at St. Thomas More College.
• Injuries were sustained by a cyclist who was struck by a car on Campus Drive. The cyclist was taken to hospital by ambulance.

The following incidents are a result of the Commerce BBQ:

• Officers issued or dealt with the following:

  • 13 Alcohol and Gaming Regulation Act infractions
  • 4   Traffic Safety Act tickets
  • 4  24-hour suspensions
  • 3  tickets for being intoxicated in public
  • 4  criminal complaints
    
  • 1  assault
  • 1  disturbance
  • 1 ticket under the Controlled Drug and Substances Act
  • 1  mischief complaint
• One male was taken into custody and faces assault charges.
• A male was arrested for being intoxicated in public and was also charged under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
• An intoxicated patron was transported to hospital by ambulance.
• A male damaged a vehicle parked in V lot by kicking the side mirror off the car.
