Stan Shadick, a senior lab demonstrator in the Dept. of Physics and Engineering Physics, has received a bronze award from the Calendar Marketing Association for his Skywatchers 2009 calendar. The award was presented in the original wall calendar category.

Brooke Dobni, associate dean in the Edwards School of Business, has been appointed acting dean of the school.

Alexandra Foster has joined the Research Administration office as awards facilitator. A graduate of the U of S, Foster moved back to Saskatoon from Carleton University where she worked as a grant writer.

Also moving to the U of S from Carleton University is Kris Foster, who has taken the position of communications specialist in Research Communications. Foster is former editor of Carleton University Magazine.

John Giesy, Canada Research Chair in Environmental Toxicology and professor of veterinary biomedical sciences, has been named Einstein Professor by the Chinese Academy of Sciences, a title awarded annually to up to 20 academic leaders in their respective fields.

Louis Delbaere, professor of biochemistry and Canada Research Chair in Structural Biochemistry, recently received the Agora Award from the Palais des congrès de Montréal, recognition of his leading a successful bid for Canada to host the congress and general assembly of the International Union of Crystallography in 2014.
