Amati Fundraiser
The University of Saskatchewan Amati Quartet in Residence will hold a fundraiser for the Saskatoon Cancer Centre May 2 at 7 pm at Third Avenue United Church. Guest artists include Guy Few, Kathleen Lohrenz-Gable, Randi Nelson and Terence Sturge. For tickets, call 270-9385 or visit the Place Riel kiosk.
STM Gallery
Showing until April 30 is Coming Together, the fourth annual exhibition of work by instructors and students in the U of S Certificate of Art and Design program. Opening May 4 is Sensory Spaces, recent work by Laurel McCormick.
In the Link
The Sacred: an Overview, an exhibition of religious texts and artifacts representing the major world religious, is in the Link Gallery, first floor of the Murray Building. The show continues until May 28.
College Building Galleries
In the lower level gallery is Mitch Robertson: 567 Economies of Good & Evil, the artist’s playful pondering of Christianity’s corporate makeover in a series of multiples, rubbings, paintings, hand-tinted photographs, and a modular church.
In the upper gallery is Inside/Out, new acquisitions from the permanent collection selected by Kent Archer, gallery director. A public reception for this exhibition begins a 7:30 pm Feb. 6.
Antiquities
The Museum of Antiquities is displaying a scale model of King Solomon’s Temple and corresponding didactic display. Built by Greg Burke, the model was donated to the museum by retired history professor Gary Hanson.
