National Debates
The U of S Debate Society is hosting the Canadian University Society of Intercollegiate Debate’s Canadian Debate Nationals 2009 March 20-22 on campus. For more information, contact Elyn Achtymichuk, College of Arts and Science, at 292-6098.
Open House
The College of Education will hold an open house and celebration of research March 14 from 8:30-noon in the student lounge, main floor, Education Building. Faculty will be in attendance and graduate students will present a poster display.
Retirement Banquet
The university’s annual retirement banquet will take place May 8 starting at 6:15 pm in Marquis Hall. More details to follow.
Library Dean’s Award
The deadline for nominations for the annual U of S Library Dean’s Award for Excellence is March 31. The award, designed to recognize the work and commitment of library employees, can be presented either to an individual and a team. Information and nomination forms are available on the library website.
Retreat
The Ecumenical Chaplaincy (Anglican, Presbyterian, United) is sponsoring Be Still & Know: A Quiet Day Retreat Feb. 28. All faculty, staff and students are welcome. For information, contact Ursula at 966-8500.
Buddhist Meditation
Buddhist medication takes place Tuesdays from 11:45 am-12:45 pm in the Multi-faith Centre (MUB 118). The sessions include a half-hour of meditation followed by tea and discussion. All welcome.
