Campus Incidents

February 1 - 7
Selected incidents reported by the Department of Campus Safety. Report
all information about these and other
incidents to Campus Safety at 966-5555.
- Officers issued citations for the following:
- 4 for disobeying a stop sign
- 4 for operating an unregistered vehicle
- 1 for failing to wear seatbelt
- 2 for speeding
- 1 for driving in violation of license
- Officers issued warnings for the following:
- 1 for failing to drive with headlights on (night)
- 1 for displaying unauthorized plate
- 4 failing to display current validation sticker
- 3 for disobeying stop sign
- 2 for headlamps not working/inadequate
- 1 for damaged windshield
- Officers attended four medical calls during the period referenced above, all of which involved physical injuries to joints or limbs; two by a slip and fall, and two were sports related.
- Damage to a residence washroom was investigated – no suspects at this time.
- A purse was stolen from room 2C16 in Agriculture while the room was unattended.
- A suspicious person report turned up to be an individual wanted out of North Battleford. Officers took the individual into custody and handed him to authorities for transport back to North Battleford.
- A motor vehicle accident occurred on campus—an unsecured vehicle rolled into one which was parked. No injuries were reported.
February 8 - 14
- Officers issued citations for the following:
- 1 for failing to obey traffic control device
- 2 for disobeying a stop sign
- 1 for operating an unregistered vehicle
- 1 for side windows having sunscreen
- Officers issued warnings for the following:
- 4 for disobeying stop sign
- 3 for headlights not working or inadequate
- 1 for failng to wear a seatbelt
- 1 for brake lights not working or inadequate
- A laptop was stolen from the main library study carrels while unattended. No witnesses.
- Officers arrested an intoxicated individual in the bus mall in front of Place Riel. He was taken to Saskatoon City Police detention.
- Unknown individuals broke a window at the Animal Science Building entrance. It was most likely caused by someone kicking the window as boot marks were visible on the broken glass.
- Officers investigated mischief to a vehicle parked in Lot 9. There appeared to be nothing stolen, though there was damage to the vehicle via a broken window and jimmied lock.
- Another vehicle, parked in U Lot at McEown Park, had stereo equipment stolen sometime over a two-day period.
- A hit and run was reported in Innovation Place. Damage consisted of dents, scratches and a broken taillight. Two individuals, in unrelated incidents, were suspended from driving for 24 hours after having been found operating a vehicle while over the legal limit.
February 15 - 22
- Officers issued the following tickets:
- 1 for speeding
- 2 for disobeying a stop sign
- 1 for driving without valid license
- 1 for failing to wear seatbelt
- Officers attended one medical call for assistance.
