Growing for a good cause
May 8, 2009
The Saskatoon SPCA is $646 richer, thanks to a group of employees who decided to beat the winter blues and raise money for charity with a friendly hair growing competition. An impartial panel of judges inspected 11 moustaches (with names like The Used Car Salesman, La Lip Warmer and Salt ‘N Pepper) as well as the leg hair of two female entrants (Team Sasquatch) on April 30. The award for worst moustache went to Vance Lester, left, a consultant with the Health Safety Environment Management System (HSEMS), for his entry Trifecta while Rob Kliewer, also with HSEMS, took top honours with his moustache called The Hook. As the winner, Kliewer got to select the charity that would receive the proceeds. Team Sasquatch was given an honourable mention.
