Clayton Ruszkowski joins the Industry Liaison Office in research administration as a technology transfer officer for engineering and the physical sciences to help faculty and grad students explore the potential for commercializing their work. Ruszkowski is a recent engineering graduate and former president of the U of S Space Design Team. |

Verity Moore-Wright began her new role as the full-time alumni relations development officer in the College of Medicine May 1. She will work to meet the strategic needs of the alumni association and the college. |

Saskatoon’s Student Wellness Initiative Toward Community Health (SWITCH) has been providing health care to disadvantaged in the community since 2005. Derek Jorgenson became the first clinical pharmacist to sign up in January 2007, and since has successfully recruited more pharmacists into the program. Jorgenson received this year’s Commitment to Care and Service Award for Collaborative Team Initiatives for his work with SWITCH. |

Jim Greer, director of the University Learning Centre and the Gwenna Moss Centre for Teaching and Learning Effectiveness has been re-appointed for a five-year term effective July 1. Greer has served with the learning centre since 2005 and as its director since 2007. |

Colleen Christensen has accepted the position as the new assistant director in the Feeds Innovation Institute. She has also recently been appointed as the vice-chair of the Saskatoon Regional Health Authority. |

Venkat Gopal, professor and department head of pharmacology, was recently selected as chair of the Canadian Association of Academic Pharmacology. Gopal attended the annual meeting of the Association of Medical School Pharmacology Chairs to explore ways of advancing education and research in North American medical schools. |

The library has announced the appointment of Catherine Boden as the new health sciences liaison librarian. She has worked as a health sciences researcher and has teaching experience at the University of California at San Diego. |
