Campus Incidents

Selected incidents reported by Campus Safety Department. Report all information about these and other incidents to Campus Safety at 966-5555.
April 20 – 26
- Officers issued citations for the following:
- 4 for disobeying a stop sign
- 8 for speeding
- 1 for failing to hold a valid driver’s license
- 1 for failing to wear a seatbelt
- 2 24-hour suspensions
- An iPod was reported stolen from a reading room in Commerce.
- A female reported that a male approached her on a BMX bicycle, tore her purse from her hands and fled on his bike. Description of the male is short, heavy set, pale complexioned, Caucasian wearing a dark hoody.
- Damage was done to the 2nd floor of Saskatchewan Hall by males screwing the legs of a couch into the wall. Males have been identified.
- Damage was done to a vehicle parked in E lot in an attempt to forcibly enter the vehicle.
- A vehicle was broken into in E lot and personal items were stolen.
- Officers extinguished a fire in the field near Ogle Hall.
- A vehicle in E lot was broken into and stereo equipment was stolen.
- Several vehicles were found tied together in U lot. The object appeared to be that if one vehicle left, it would damage parts of another vehicle. Officers went through the lot and removed ties from 3 different vehicles.
- A vehicle parked at the Diefenbaker Centre was damaged by what appeared to be paintball gun paint on the side mirror.
- Paintball marks were reported in several areas on campus. A male was arrested and charged for damaging property at the U of S with a paintball gun.
- Officers responded to one medical call for assistance.
- Fire department was called to extinguish a fire in Devil’s Dip. It appeared people were partying in the area and left the fire unattended
April 27 – May 3
- Officers issued citations for the following:
- 7 for speeding
- 1 for operating an unregistered motor vehicle
- 2 for disobeying a stop sign
- 1 for a minor possessing/consuming alcohol

Two young offenders were arrested on campus for outstanding warrants. One was issued a fine for possessing alcohol under age.
- Officers attended five medical calls.
- A vehicle parked in the Murray Library loading dock was damaged when a Loraas Disposal bin rolled into it.
- A young offender was arrested for theft from the Campus Computer Store.
- One accident was reported. There was minor damage and no injuries.
- A fire was reported at the Marquis Hall loading dock and was quickly extinguished. It appeared to have started by someone tossing a lit cigarette into a pile of dried leaves.
- A male was charged with tampering with pay lot equipment.
- A laptop was stolen in residence. It has since been recovered.
