Campus Incidents

Selected incidents reported by Campus Safety Department. Report all information about these and other incidents to Campus Safety at 966-5555.
Oct. 26 – Nov. 1
- Officers issued the following tickets:
- 5 24-hour suspensions were issued
- 1 30-day suspension.
- 2 for failing to wear seatbelt
- 5 for disobeying a stop sign
- 3 for having/keeping/consuming alcohol in a vehicle
- 6 for speeding
- 2 for unregistered motor vehicles
- 1 for driving while suspended
- 3 for a minor in possession of alcohol
- A person reported damage to her vehicle after she was forced to swerve off the road near Goodale Farm to prevent hitting a university cow that was loose on the road.
- Edwards School of Business reported the theft of a 4 foot by 2 foot promotional cheque that was being displayed in the Engineering Building. Value for replacement of cheque is from $50 to $150.
- A mountain bike was stolen from racks at PAC.
- A hit and run accident was reported at Rutherford Rink.
- Unknown culprit(s) broke into a crawl space in Engineering.
- A bike was stolen from a rack at residence.
- Graffiti was reported at Innovation Place.
- Several items including cash were stolen from a storage room in the Health Sciences Building. This file is still under investigation.
- Officers attended three medical calls for assistance.
- A vehicle was seized and the owner charged for using a fraudulent parking decal.
- A full sized cut out of Brett Wilson, which was being used as a promotional item in Place Riel, was stolen. Value is approx $200.
- Officers arrested a male who was attempting to gain entry to Athabasca Hall. It was determined he had outstanding warrants. He was taken to police cells.
- Officers arrested a male for attempting to steal a bicycle.
- Officers attended one motor vehicle accident.
- Officers dealt with several altercations between males on campus. Alcohol was a relating factor in all incidents.
Nov. 2 – 8
- Officers issued the following tickets:
- 1 30-day suspension
- 1 for disobeying a traffic control device
- 9 for disobey stop signs
- 2 for operating an unregistered vehicle
- 2 for having/giving/consuming alcohol other than in a private place
- 2 for speeding
- 2 for having no driver’s license
- One motor vehicle accident was reported.
- Officers arrested two males for possession of stolen property. They had equipment from the Academic Health Sciences construction site. Suspects were turned over to Saskatoon Police for processing.
- An ATV and trailer were stolen from a compound on campus. Lock had been cut off compound gate. No suspects at this time, file is still under investigation.
- Damage was done to a door in residence. A suspect has been identified.
- Personal items were stolen from an unattended back pack in Health Sciences.
