GreenCampus

A group of students are encouraging the university community to take environmental issues in to their own hands. Or in this case, their feet.
Steffen Bertelsen, a member of the Footprint Design student group, said this year’s Sustainability Symposium will have a little something for everyone. “This will be a gathering of like-minded people focused on sustainability,” said Bertelsen. “Our goal is to turn the general discussions into a plan.”
This is the third year the event has taken place, so Footprint Design is bringing in members of the community to speak on a range of topics from electric vehicles to forest ecology and local food. The Sustainability Symposium will take place on Oct. 3 in the Arts Building room 143 from noon to 4 p.m.
Footprint Design is an engineering student group focused on sustainability and developing technology to shrink ecological footprints.
