Alumni & Development and USSU offer DISorientation
If the U of S orients first-year students to campus life and lore when they arrive, shouldnt it "DIS-orient" students helping them when theyre about to leave and venture into the world outside? Certainly it should, thought the organizers of the first-ever "Disorientation Graduation Festival", a five-day March 6-10 joint offering of the U of S Students Union and the Office of Alumni and Development. A&D "Young Alumni" Co-ordinator Julian Demkiw says the original idea for Disorientation came from USSU, and a thorough round of meeting with and talking to students, student-groups and others in recent months helped a joint A&D/USSU committee fashion the varied program thatll be offered. That needs assessment resulted in a program that includes:
Demkiw says "DISorientation has been publicized through USSU, College student societies, and he hopes for 30-40 people went to each seminar. He says DISorientation finishes the U of S circle of: Experience US, Orientation, the Advantage student leadership conference, and then DISorientation.
