    Has it been a while since your last Grade 12 math class? If you need a refresher in the math used in university-level Science, Engineering, or Commerce courses, Math Readiness can help.

  • ECOLOGY TOURS (4)

    • Quill Lakes, a migratory bird staging ground/Riding Mountain National Park, known for its black bears/Oak Hammock Marsh, the Canadian home of Ducks Unlimited, where mallards nest on the grassland roof and the Interpretive Centre and trails are a world-class educational model. May 27—31, $595

    • Wolves & Bison in the Peace-Athabasca Delta. Learn about wolves, bison, and a great variety of waterfowl, shorebirds, warblers, sparrows, and other species during peak migration period. May 26—June 3, $1,550

    • Athabasca Sand Dunes. Learn about the glacial history, ecology, wildlife, and unique plant species of Saskatchewan’s largest wilderness park, the magnificent Athabasca Sand Dunes. June 15—21, $1,550

  • COURSES FOR OLDER ADULTS

    Saskatoon Seniors for Continued Learning (SSCL), in co-operation with Extension Division, offers non-credit courses to people over 55. These popular courses, on a wide range of literary, political, religious, and artistic areas, meet on campus once a week for 2 hours. Spring courses begin Mar. 6. To enrol, contact SSCL, P.O.   • ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE (ESL)

    Winter term English as a Second Language (ESL) classes at the Centre for Second Language Instruction run Jan. 24-March 17 in the R.J.D. Williams Bldg., 221 Cumberland Ave. N. Classes at advanced levels are suitable for graduate and undergraduate students, TAs and faculty. Effective Writing is held Mon. and Wed.; Spoken English is held Tues. And Thurs. Cost is $200.   • INSTRUCTIONAL DEVELOPMENT WORKSHOPS (3)

    • Assessment and Grading of Student Performance
      Facilitators: Don Saklofske & Ivan Kelly, Educational Psychology. Fri., Jan. 28, 1:30-4 pm. Assessment has been described as an "engine that drives student learning." This session will review some of the more common methods of assessing university students' learning.

    • Web-Based Course Development and Delivery
      Facilitator: Daniel Mittelholtz, College of Agriculture. Tues., February 1—Tues., March 28 (nine weeks). 7 pm—10 pm. $25 (for materials and printing). This course has been designed to provide instructors with the necessary tools to create and deliver a Web-Based course. Limited to 20 participants.

    • Developing Effective Presentation Skills (for Graduate Student Teachers)
      Facilitator: Cindy Paquette, Communications Office. Fri., Feb. 11, 1:30-4 p.m. This interactive workshop is designed to help graduate student teachers enhance their classroom presentation skills. Registration required for all workshops. Call 966-5539.
