The College of Dentistry has appointed U of S graduate Tarissa Warrington
as recruitment/development officer for a two-year term, with
responsibilities for recruiting international students to the College. To
date, the College has recruited five such students to begin in the fall of
'99 and hopes to double that number, with a goal of 15 international
students for the fall of 2000.

Next April in Edmonton, Professor Val Schneider, College of Kinesiology,
will be inducted into the University of Alberta's Sports Wall of Fame,
together with three other former U of A student-athletes.

Printing Services is holding a retirement celebration for Bill Tew, who
joined Printing Services as a Clerk-Steno I in 1962 and worked his way
through the ranks to become manager, in 1983. Everyone is invited to come
to a farewell function in Marquis Hall on Wednesday, January 27, from 3:30
to 5:30 p.m. (presentation at 4 p.m.) to honor Bill's commitment to the U
of S and his 37-year service to Printing Services. R.S.V.P. by January 25
to 966-6639. Bill's last official work day will be January 29.

Rob Hipkin has assumed the position of system administrator/programmer in
the College of Commerce. He was formerly employed by the Multimedia and
Web Development Unit in the Division of Audio Visual Services.
