Dr. Brian Rossnagel, Crop Development Centre, is
a winner of the Prairie Oat Growers Association's
Kirylchuk Award, given to individuals who have made
an outstanding contribution to the oat industry.
Rossnagel has been in charge of the University's oat
breeding program since 1977. Many milling quality varieties
now in use stem from his work. The award honors
Peter Kirylchuk, founding president,Oat Producers Association of Alberta.

Professor John Courtney, of Political Studies,
has had his Killam Research Fellowship renewed for
a second year - one of 14 such renewals and 12 new Killams out of a total
field of 103 applicants for the prestigious award.
He's conducting research on the future of
electoral representation in Canada.

University Cup national hockey playoffs at Sask
Place - USSU president Jason Aebig will, on behalf of the
student body, present George and Marsha
Ivany and their children Jessica and
Sarah with a gift in anticipation of the termination of their time
