Prof. Paul Mezey, Chemistry, has received international recognition in recent months for his outstanding research work. Earlier this year he was elected a member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, the Hungarian counterpart of the Royal Society. This year he was also elected a full member of the European Academy of Sciences, Arts, and Humanities, based in Paris. In January Mezey became a Fellow of the European Institute for Advanced Study, Collegium Budapest, Hungary. And last November he was elected Secretary-General of the Council for Data in Science and Technology, a UNESCO-supported international organization.
