  • LIBRARY ART SHOW

    Continuing into October, "Mac and Beth Hone: The Lighter Side", is a mixed media show now on display in the Library (north of link). The works are a combination of pieces from the artist's own collection and the University Archives. The show is a joyful reflection of the wit and wisdom of the husband and wife artists from Lumsden, Sask. For info. tel. 6027.


  • MUSEUM OF ANTIQUITIES

    The Museum of Antiquities, 237 Murray Bldg., features a permanent collection of full-scale replicas of ancient Greek, Roman, and medieval sculpture, made with exacting scholarship by the Louvre, Paris, as well as ancient coinage and artifacts. Open Mon. - Fr., 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 noon, as well as some unscheduled afternoon hours and Sundays by appointment. For info. call 966-7818.


  • DIEFENBAKER CANADA CENTRE

    • Continuing to Oct. 24, the Diefenbaker Canada Centre will feature "Menno Simons: Image, Art, and Identity", an exhibit on one of the founders of the Mennonite church.

    • 1:30 p.m., Oct. 21, the Diefenbaker Canada Centre presents noted Canadian author Maggie Siggins reading from her forthcoming book, "Escaping the Big Lie", to be published by Harper Collins next spring. It deals with a high school reunion which turns into a history of women in the western world, from antiquity to the present. At the Diefenbaker Centre.
