A fun ‘thanks’ to volunteers

An unidentified volunteer who helps the U of S with programs like Experience-US concentrates hard as she tries to knock a plastic insect through the frog’s mouth, as Kinesiology Assoc. Prof. Lyle Sanderson, left, and Athletic Co-ordinator Ross Wilson watch. It was part of a first-ever Fun Night held to thank volunteers who help the University with numerous events. About 75 attended the evening games of putting, ‘froggy fly fling’, knocking over bottles with baseballs, and blackjack. Sponsors were the Alumni Assoc., President’s Office, Student Affairs & Services, and insurance company Meloche Monnex. There are 1,600 people currently listed as volunteers for the U of S. 2001 is the Year of the Volunteer.
