DIEFENBAKER CANADA CENTRE

Continuing to March 11, "The Vikings: Master Mariners, Traders, Colonists & Artisans", a traveling exhibit from the Manitoba Museum of Man & Nature, features graphic panels and mounted artifacts explaining the Vikings’ daily lives, crafts, trade, and sophisticated ship-building techniques. It presents a balanced image of these northern people who 1,000 years ago arrived in what is now Newfoundland. The Centre is open Sundays 12:30-5 p.m., Mondays & Fridays 9:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Tuesdays to Thursdays 9:30 a.m.-8 p.m. Admission $2 for adults, $1 for children 3-16, and $5 for families. UNIVERSITY MAIN LIBRARY

Continuing to March 20 – "Land and Sky: Ruth Pawson’s Prairie Vision", an exhibition of plein air paintings and archival documents from University Collections exploring the career of Regina landscape artist Ruth Pawson (1908 - 1994).

MUSEUM OF ANTIQUITIES

The Museum of Antiquities, 237 Murray Bldg. Currently featuring "Myths and Legends", a special exhibition on the mythology surrounding certain ancient artworks – including Aphrodite, Osiris, and the Parthenon. The Museum also features a permanent collection of full-scale replicas of ancient Greek, Roman, and medieval sculpture, made with exacting scholarship by the Louvre, Paris, as well as ancient coinage and artifacts. Open Mon. - Fri., 9:00 a.m.-12:00 noon, as well as some unscheduled times by appointment. For info. call 966-7818.
