For info call Corinne Szwydky at 966-6202. 2001-02 SPINKS LECTURE Depts. of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering host the 2001-02 J.W.T. Spinks Lecture Series, to be given by Dr. George M. Whitesides, Harvard University. These annual lectures, established in 1975, recognize the many contributions Dr. Spinks made to his Departments, the University, and the chemical profession, nationally and internationally. As faculty member, Department Head, Dean of the College of Graduate Studies and Research, University President, and President Emeritus, Spinks was associated with the U of S from 1930-97. The lecture series brings to the U of S eminent scientists and engineers in the fields of chemistry and chemical engineering. The lectures will be presented Mar. 7 and Mar. 8, in Rm 159 Thorvaldson at 3:45 p.m. They are entitled:

This seminar will explore current trends in pain research and treatment modalities with an emphasis on the psychophysiological basis of pain syndromes.
