FARMLAND OWNERSHIP LAW CONFERENCE

The Centre for Studies in Agriculture Law and the Environment (CSALE) & U of S Dept. of Agricultural Economics will host:  Saskatchewan Farmland Ownership Law: A Time For Change?  Mon., Feb. 18, 10:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Rm 105, Thorvaldson Bldg., U of S.  Registration: $50 (includes lunch).  The objective of this one-day conference is to bring together experts to provide information about the Farmland Ownership Legislation and its impacts, and to provide a forum for public discussion. LITERARY READING – MARGOSHES

Boffins Cafe and the College of Education will host two author readings by Dave Margoshes, writer-in-residence at the Saskatoon Public Library, which is sponsoring the readings. Mon., Feb. 11 and Wed., Feb. 13, both at 3:00 p.m. at Boffins Cafe, west wing, Galleria Bldg, Innovation Place, in the context of Education writing classes taught by instructor Martha Zacharias. Everyone is invited.

POETRY READING – SCOFIELD

Mon., Feb. 11, at 3:30 p.m., Gregory Scofield, a Métis poet and community worker, will deliver a reading in Rm. 105 Arts Bldg.  Gregory Scofield has published four books of poetry and an autobiography, Thunder Through My Veins.  This reading is sponsored by the Dept. of English and the Role Model Speaker Fund of the College of Arts & Science.

Feb. 19, 8:30 a.m.-4:00 p.m., in Marquis Hall (Garry Rm.), the 6th Annual Professional Development Day for Clerical & Admin. Staff will include speakers: Niki Rebin, Lillas Brown, Greg Horvath, & Sandra Greenough. Door prizes & hot buffet lunch provided.  Fee $64.20.

U OF S OBSERVATORY VIEWING

The campus observatory is open to the public 7:30-9:30 p.m. Saturdays. It is one block north of Wiggins Ave. and College Dr.  Admission is free. On clear evenings, visitors may look through the telescope to view the ring nebula, star clusters and other celestial objects. For info call the Astronomy Information Line at 966-6429.

‘THE BRAIN SHOW’

CHANGING THE CLIMATE: EXPLORING DIVERSITY CONF.
