| Maryann Ross, Career Services Officer with
the U of S Student Employment & Career Centre, gives a presentation on
job-hunting skills to students during one of the 12 DISOrientation workshops
held Jan. 29-Feb. 1 in Place Riel Theatre.
Organizers Leigha McAree, Student Liaison Co-ordinator in Alumni &
Development Office, and Jack Wallace, U of S Students’ Union Vice-President of
Academic Affairs, say while DISOrientation was originally aimed at graduating
students, this year it was thrown open to all students – and from 25-50
attended each session covering skills like investing, tax filing, and worklife
issues. A Jan. 28 banquet kicked the
week off, and this year a ‘Travel Day’ dealt with foreign travel and work. |
