| What began 13 years ago as just a coffee
get-together at holiday time has become a full-blown U of S tradition of having
the campus chaplains and International Student Advisor’s Office hosting a
Christmas dinner of turkey and all the trimmings for any and all international
students who are in Saskatoon and away from their homes for the late-December
season. Many University officials
including Vice-President Finance & Resources Tony Whitworth, Dean of
Agriculture Ernie Barber, U of S International Director Asit Sarkar, and
International Student Advisor Kurt Tischler served the dinner Dec. 22 to more
than 150 students at St. Andrew’s College, then carols were sung, stories told,
games were played by the children, and Santa visited with gifts. Here, clockwise from left, Chinese students
Tan Winnie, Ellen Fan, Lun Zhaorong, Ruojing Wang, Suking Zhay, and Grace Bao
have thoroughly enjoyed their Christmas dinner. |
