Campus Career Expo to attract 3,000 Sept. 19

More than 3,000 students and U of S alumni are expected to visit 100 corporate booths at the Campus Career Expo being held 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Wed., Sept. 19 in the Saskatoon Fieldhouse.

The event, sponsored by the Student Employment & Career Centre (SECC), offers students, alumni and companies the chance to get together and share information about possible careers.

SECC says the Career Expo offers students the chance to gain insight into careers, meet employers one-on-one, improve their networking skills, and have a critique of their resume done on-the-spot.

Corporations pay $425 each to register, present a display, get a link on the SECC website in September, and attend a employers’ reception at the U of S Faculty Club and meet faculty members.

Companies exhibiting include: Agrium, Cameco, Canadian Security Intelligence Service, CIBC, Dow Chemical, Farm Credit Corporation, GE, Hitachi, Husky Energy, Nestle, Procter & Gamble, Public Service Commisson of Canada, Saskatoon District Health, SaskPower,  SaskTel, SED Systems, Syncrude, and Weyerhaeuser.

Free shuttle buses will run from Place Riel and the Commerce and Engineering parking loops to the Field House and back every 20 minutes.
