Justin Trudeau visits the U of S during student orientation events

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was among those in attendance at the Gordon Oakes Red Bear Student Centre at the University of Saskatchewan on Friday afternoon.

The Prime Minister was joined by Patty Hadju, Minister of Employment, Workforce Development and Labour and Ralph Goodale, Minister of Public Safety, in the roundtable discussion, which coincided with the Aboriginal Student Welcome, an orientation event for first-year Indigenous students.

“It was incredibly humbling for me to talk to these young people about the challenges they are facing,” he said, following an announcement of new student work placements for post-secondary students.

In addition to meeting with students to discuss issues of transition to employment from post-secondary education, Trudeau also took audience questions ranging from Indigenous relations to aid for the victims of Hurricane Harvey in the United States.
