Huskies' Heenan selected first overall in CFL draft.

University of Saskatchewan Huskies' offensive lineman Ben Heenan has been selected first overall in the 2012 Canadian Football League (CFL) draft by the Saskatchewan Roughriders. Riders' CEO Jim Hopson made the announcement at the annual Dogs' Breakfast May 3.

Heenan, a six-foot-four, 310-pound offensive guard, is the second Huskie to be drafted number one overall; the first was safety Dylan Barker who was selected first in the 2008 draft by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

Heenan also becomes the sixth-straight player from Canadian Interuniversity Sport (CIS) to be selected first overall in the CFL draft.
