Huskie Football CFL connections

Eight former University of Saskatchewan Huskies will grace Canadian Football League rosters for the 2017 season slated to begin Thursday.

The Calgary Stampeders lead the Huskies contingent with four members on the 2017 squad. The group includes running back Charlie Power, receivers Rory Kohlert and Julan Lynch (practice roster) and linebacker Dexter Janke.

Veterans Patrick Neufeld (offensive lineman) and Chad Rempel (long-snapper) each remain on the Winnipeg Blue Bombers roster, while Geoff Hughes will play his second season with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats at linebacker.

Ottawa Redblacks first round pick in the 2017 CFL Draft, Evan Johnson, snagged a spot on the offensive line of the reigning Grey Cup champions.
