New U of S dairy facility officially opens

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - October 10, 2013 The University of Saskatchewan invites media to attend the official opening of the Rayner Dairy Research and Teaching Facility. Named in honour of John Rayner for his dedication to agriculture in Saskatchewan, the new facility includes the Feeding the World interpretive galleries, which will educate the public about agriculture by highlighting Saskatchewan's role in feeding the world using modern dairy and food production systems.

The formal program will begin at 2 pm and speakers will include:
• Honourable Lyle Stewart, Saskatchewan Minister of Agriculture
• Stephen Morgan Jones, director general, Prairie and Boreal Plain Ecozone, Science and Technology Branch,
Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada
• Blaine McLeod, chair, SaskMilk
• Karen Chad, vice-president research, University of Saskatchewan
