UPDATE: Water pressure restored to University of Saskatchewan campus

SASKATOON - The University of Saskatchewan's water pressure has been restored and classes and services will resume as of 6 pm this evening, Monday October 21. All classes and services will be running regularly Tuesday, October 22.

Earlier today, a severe water main break on College Drive reduced or eliminated water pressure in most buildings on campus, north of College Drive and through parts of Innovation Place. The city and facilities management staff immediately began working to resolve the issue; however, the break was more significant than originally thought and because of the potential inability to supply water in case of a fire as well as for other safety reasons, the president made the decision to close the campus.
The university will continue to monitor the situation, working with the City of Saskatoon regarding the timing of repairs in order to minimize any further disruption to campus.
The U of S has been assured by the city that the university's water supply is safe.
