Saskatchewan's Lieutenant Governor to open Canadian Museum of History's travelling exhibit, "A Queen and her Country" at U of S Diefenbaker Canada Centre

The Diefenbaker Canada Centre (DCC) is hosting the grand opening of the exhibit "A Queen and Her Country", with two events featuring dignitaries from across Canada and a diverse group of local students.

This travelling exhibit developed by the Canadian Museum of History in Gatineau, QC, commemorates the Diamond Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II from a uniquely Canadian perspective and invites visitors to reflect on her remarkable journey from young princess to long-serving monarch. Featuring a rich assortment of artifacts and historical images from across the country, this exhibit recalls Her Majesty's many Canadian tours, as well as diverse seminal events such as the celebration of Canada's centennial in 1967 and the proclamation of the Constitution Act in 1982. "A Queen and Her Country" will be on display at the DCC until June 8, 2014.

Media are invited to attend both events.
