This travelling exhibit developed by the Canadian Museum of History in Gatineau, QC, commemorates the Diamond Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II from a uniquely Canadian perspective and invites visitors to reflect on her remarkable journey from young princess to long-serving monarch. Featuring a rich assortment of artifacts and historical images from across the country, this exhibit recalls Her Majesty's many Canadian tours, as well as diverse seminal events such as the celebration of Canada's centennial in 1967 and the proclamation of the Constitution Act in 1982. "A Queen and Her Country" will be on display at the DCC until June 8, 2014.

The first event starts at 1 p.m. and features remarks from Lieutenant Governor Vaughn Solomon Schofield; (U of S) Chancellor Blaine Favel; and the Canadian Museum of History's Director of Research Dean Oliver.
