U of S College of Engineering hosts Safety Days and Hard Hat Ceremony

Media are invited to attend two events this week hosted by the University of Saskatchewan (U of S) College of Engineering.

SAFETY DAYS:
The College of Engineering is hosting its third annual Safety Days on September 9-10, when students will learn about safety within the engineering profession. Second-year undergraduate and graduate students will attend sessions on industry culture and practices, including topics such as safety psychology, laws and regulations, hazards and laboratory safety. The lineup of speakers include U of S engineering alumni and specialists from industry. View the session descriptions and full schedule.

HARD HAT CEREMONY:
The second annual Engineering Hard Hat Ceremony will welcome second-year students into their area of specialization within the field of engineering, marking this important transition in their studies. At the ceremony, students will receive a coloured hard hat representing the program they are entering. The specific disciplines include chemical, civil, geological, environmental, electrical, computer and mechanical engineering, as well as engineering physics.
