City adds funding to InterVac project

The City of Saskatoon has joined the funding partnership for the proposed International Vaccine Centre at the U of S with a commitment of $250,000 over five years.

The $62-million centre will conduct research into protecting human and animal health from emerging diseases like SARS, bird flu and West Nile virus.

Mayor Don Atchison said the InterVac centre is an opportunity to build on Saskatoon's reputation as a "centre of excellence in life science research and application".
