Vanier Cup bound?

Football Game

The U of S Huskies football squad took a step closer to the national championship Vanier Cup last weekend as they edged the University of Alberta Golden Bears 21-20 in Edmonton. Above, the Huskies take on the Golden Bears in a game this fall at Griffiths Stadium. By taking the Hardy Cup as top team in the Canada West conference, the Huskies earned the right to host the Saint Mary’s Huskies tomorrow, Nov. 20, in the CIS Mitchell Bowl. That game will be televised nationally on TSN and is expected to draw a record crowd of about 7,500 to Griffiths Stadium. Gates open at noon and the kickoff is at 1:00 p.m. Winner of the game travels to Hamilton for the Vanier Cup game at Ivor Wynne Stadium on Nov. 27.
