Diplomats speak on ‘big science’

Diplomats from France and Great Britain were among those who addressed a Sept. 28 gathering at Innovation Place organized to discuss Investing in Big Science.

A U of S news release said David Reddaway, British High Commissioner to Canada, and Daniel Jouanneau, the French ambassador, spoke about research and development experiences in their countries. Held in conjunction with the planned Oct. 22 opening of the synchrotron, the diplomats shared their views on investing in large-scale science projects. Both England and France have a synchrotron, and both are building a second.
