U.S. electioneering reaches U of S

With a tight race in the upcoming Nov. 2 U.S. election, every vote counts, including those cast by American students in Canada.

A report in the Queen’s Journal said the Democratic Party, through its Democrats Abroad Canada organization, has campaigned on campuses, including the U of S, encouraging students to register to vote. Republicans Abroad Canada, however, is asking its members to contact them using more traditional means, including the Internet and the American consulate.

An estimated 300,000 Americans, including students, reside in Canada. In mid-October, the U of S had 27 full-time American students, and five part-time.
