All urged to help launch SiRIUS system

The entire campus community has been asked to do what it can to ensure the new online student information (Si) project meets its upcoming deadlines.

Provost and Vice-President Academic Michael Atkinson told University Council Jan. 27 that “things are getting serious” about the SiRIUS project which needs to be up and running by April 4 in order to handle student registration for the 2005 spring and summer term. That will be followed by an early July deadline for SiRIUS to begin handling registration for the fall term.

While Si was adopted “as a major investment” in student services, Atkinson said the project “belongs to all of us”, making it important for the community to support the project committee in its effort to meet “the timelines required for operational purposes. If we miss them, we cannot register students, and we cannot collection tuition. You draw your own conclusions.”
